What patients say on Google
“I would give minus stars if I could. The patient called the paramedics to take him to the hospital a sinus infection which made him not able to breathe well. The hospital decided after two days to move him to the psych ward, based on the premise that he was suicidal, not from his own words, but from a conversation with me on the phone. His hospital records show in black and white that he was not suicidal. They ask you a series of questions and every day his answers were consistently answered with a no, meaning he was not suicidal in any way. So looking to find a way to keep him, for revenue perhaps? They called me and asked if he was depressed. I said yes, as he's been through 9 months of chemo, meaning in a down mood. Not suicidal. Never said he was suicidal and said the opposite. The social worker put in the records as a reason to keep him was that he wasn't taking his antidepressant, but he was NOT on an antidepressant! This person is being treated for cancer at another hospital. They made him sign himself in by threatening that it may take a judge to get him out and that he would miss his cancer treatments and other Dr. appointment if the court had to intervene. And for what? He wasn't even suicidal!! I called the police. They would not allow the police to come up. They held him on lies and didn't give him antibiotics for the infection he was suffering with and gave him a wrong medication for his infection which the ER doctor said NOT to give him. So they held him against his will for days and withheld the medication he should have been given for his infection while simultaneously giving him medication that was making his infection worse. They forced him into the ward on false accusations, proven by his medications list. Like a horror movie. If one out of the three reasons they held him can be proven false by medical records, then you can reason that the other two reasons based from a conversation with me are equally as invalid. And again, his own records show that he was not suicidal. It shows he answered every question regarding it with a no consistently. Then in the psych ward they had him go to groups where they were coloring! He didn't belong there at all, much less coloring! The stress of this isn't good for a person being treated for cancer. It was a violation of his human rights. You can see that basically all of the reviews are bad from everyone. There's a reason for that. They don't know what they're doing and they're abusive as well. He got so sick with the untreated infection that the patients were asking the staff to call the doctor. He thought he was going to die from the infection. They kept him 5 days, letting him out of 5th day. He went straight to the ear, nose and throat doctor within an hour, and he had a severe sinus infection that he was given 2 weeks antibiotics for, a strong steroid, two nasal sprays and claritan. Yet Good Sam's records state he had no symptoms of a sinus infection. Yet the ENT said he could see thick green mucus and that was the reason he couldn't breathe well. The inmates are obviously running the asylum at Good Samaritan. They completely ignored an infection in someone who is being treated for cancer. That's a lot of stress on the body and the mind. This place should be investigated and employees should be let go. This whole place should be shut down and people should face criminal charges for putting someone being treated with cancer in the psych ward on false accusations and threatening a person with cancer that if he doesn't sign himself in he may miss his cancer treatment immunotherapy infusion appointments and ENT appointment. This is criminal and malpractice. What a horrific experience for the patient and his family. All were worried he was going to die in there from their stupidity and overall lack of correct medical care. Not to mention lack of empathy. Then they have the audacity to try and charge him. A case for Medicare fraud, as well as malpractice and criminal charges. You can't make false accusations to keep someone in the psych ward.”
“The doctor and social worker were rude and abusive. I came in with depression after a brain injury. They told me I had multiple mental disorders I had never been diagnosed with before and that I needed electric shock therapy. They told me I was taking advantage of my parents. They placed me in a low bottom locked in psychiatric facility in Waukegan where I could not sign myself out.”
“I would give it no stars if I could. Please do not send your loved ones here. The staff don’t listen to the patients, the doctors have egos, the social workers don’t know anything about medicine or even the hours, they’re just “interns”. Everyone in that hospital is doing the BARE minimum”
“This place is AWFUL. Staff Never inform you of rights as a patient-staff is terrible and unprofessional. They just force drugs on you and threaten you with force or any kind of legal action. Drugs make you hallucinate. You don't like the side effects of the drugs but they force you anyway. Staff gives you terrible inappropriate diagnoses and labels. Only make your anxiety exponentially worse and tease you sadistically. Take away any sense of independence you ever had. This place is fantastically BAD. Deserves NO stars. Staff are kinda evil. This is personal experience. Drugs do permanent physical, digestive, endocrine, neurological, cognitive and muscular damage that is irreparable. Nurses and staff even secretly come into your room and say things to make your anxiety so much worse. A group staff came into my room at night once. A male nurse came to my room in the day once and gave me a drug and refused to tell me what it was -threatened me with harm if I didn't take it. Periodically made me sign papers with out ANY explanations and threatened me if I didn't sign them. Drs are evil. Nurses and other staff are sadistic. They NEVER ask questions to figure out how to really try to help. Just drugs and threats. And more terrible and inappropriate "diagnoses," labels and archaic "treatments.". Trap”
