“My therapist Emily called me 20 minutes before walking out the door to cancel my appointment. She called to cancel me because she can not help me without having her own biases. She has a cop spouse so she can not understand how to best assist me with my PTSD around the police. Being unbiased and listening is her only job and her love of the police stopped her from being able to help me. She knew that this was an issue I wanted to work on since our first appointment and continued to take my money without providing any help until the most recent police shooting. Knowing this is something I would need to cover at is has a lot of crossover with my trauma. I asked for a partial refund and was denied. If our roles were reversed and she canceled me due to my love of the police NOBODY would find this acceptable. I now am back in search for a good reputable therapist who can handle real world issues. When in this real world police are executing people at their own accord.”
