“I’m only giving them two stars because Dr. Chandra provided me with excellent mental health treatment. Unfortunately, my experiences with Maggie Ackerman and Beth (I can’t recall her last name) were overwhelmingly negative. As other reviewers have noted, Maggie would go on explosive verbal tirades if you triggered her temper. Sometimes just for expressing personal distress! Beth was more personable, but later became even more problematic. Once I was unable to pick up my medication samples, as I was facing a cancer scare and 5 hours away. And instead of prescribing me a similar anti-depressant that my insurance covered, she refused to prescribe me anything (I had to withdraw from my anti-depressants while going through a crisis). I hear they hired some new doctors, so I really hope they’ve cleaned up their act.”

“Saw akerman for a while there. Staff up front is nice. When I went there one day to talk about worsening anxiety problems and maybe have some medication adjustments I was chewed out and told I need to go to see a therapist (which I tried and didn't work). Also made fun of me for Using antidepressants and anti anxiety drugs to cope and all the lady did was tear me down till she finally said she'd give me a new medicine meant for anxiety then lied about it and never called it in. She had me on 4 medications that were making me sick and tired all the time and would do nothing about it besides say I need a therapist the lady also brings in a dog to the office which is very unsanitary and unprofessional. NEVER EVER go there she's the rudest doctor I've ever met. I have so many heath problems from the meds they had me on and now I'm seeing a better doctor trying to get off the meds and dealing with withdrawal symptoms. Southern Illinois needs better medical care.”

“They failed to treat my adult ADHD. Dr. Chandra was rude and said because I have a temper I'm bipolar! Not true. He further said I failed to qualify to be a new psyche patient according to federal guidelines and gave me a paper and sent me home! What a way to rip off the poor state! I came here because they accept medicaid. He also said I was not working or a student so this was discrimination because my id is even classified as disabled! What a joke! My girlfriend won't go here either. These doctors are bad like in Marion. No clue to what I have wrong and didn't prescribe meds or labs. No one in waiting area. For sale realty sign outside building. Well if they change their attitude they won't lose more patients or money that pays the building! Pathetic place. Don't go there go somewhere else like Vienna or Union County or counseling or Duqoin places that way. Southern Illinois deserves better medical care for everyone. F- grade”

“What a horrible place The front staff is great, the secretaries THAT'S ALL The two doctors that are there Lorinski is clueless and I would rather go and pay money at the ER rather than see her. Roberts is a rude stuck up woman, that doesn't care if you wait hours on hours and it's your fault when you have to wait ...She brings up where you work and says she has to wait so you should have to too. NEVER will EVER go there again! RUN, they're ridiculous”
