How likely are you to recommend Acadia Geisinger Behavioral Health?
What patients say on Google
“I was there for two weeks in the adolescent unit, BeBop. I personally had an AMAZING experience. This was my first psychiatric hospital I have been to, and I loved all the staff. Therapists and BHAs were so professional and helpful. I would like to personally thank Mr. Peter, Mr. Robby, Mr. Paul, Mrs. Robin, and many others that I can’t remember their names. Many people didn’t like the adult units, but I highly recommend the adolescent unit. There is only 8 beds, so every kid gets care and attention of their own. I can’t express enough how much they have helped me.”
“i loved my time at this place, got sober, made friends with kids and staff, specifically nurse robby , bella and bha emilee were absolutely amazing. i miss it sometimes it was so nice, only complaint is bha robin with red hair who was always causing issues. i also loved the therapists. genuinely a healing experience.”
“coming from a recently discharged patient from here, don’t send yourself or a loved one here. go anywhere else. there’s so much neglect of care and 90% of the staff i met are definitely only there for the paycheck and do not care about the patients. i left with more trauma than i came in with. they ignored me when i told them i hurt myself and wanted to die and they never moved my observation levels. i never once felt safe here.”
“I would have given 5 stars because the staff, facility, and food were great, but the doctors and case worker dropped the ball. I was sick and had trouble sleeping from the time I got there. After being there 3 days, I found out that I wasnt being given my twice a day acid reflux medication, this caused me to get physically sick every single time I ate. They also were not giving me my seroquel, which is a big contributor to my mood and sleep. Knowing this, next time I will make sure to go over all meds with the doctor and double check with the nurse when they are giving them. The food was great (you go to a cafeteria and choose your own food) and the therapists seem to genuinely care. The aides were fantastic (especially Ms Patty and Sarah). The RN Kelly really helped me out when I was sick. Overall I had a more pleasant experience than I have in several other facilities. ETA you have to bring your own CPAP machine, make sure all books you bring are paperback and you can bring your own shampoo/conditioner/body wash as long as they are unopened. They also try to get you outside in the courtyard as much as possible, there is also a gymnasium but I didnt get a chance to go there.”
