“I would strongly encourage anyone considering this practice to carefully research other options before committing to services here. I delayed writing this review for many months because I wanted time to reflect carefully and make sure I was being fair. Unfortunately, after nearly a year, I still believe my experience with this practice was deeply disappointing and professionally concerning. I was court-ordered to participate in reunification therapy through this office. Given the emotional sensitivity and urgency involved in these cases, I expected professionalism, responsiveness, transparency, and some sense of forward movement. That was not my experience. Over several months, I experienced repeated communication problems, including unanswered emails, texts, and phone messages. At one point, a scheduled call did not occur, which forced me to schedule and pay for an additional in-person session instead. I was repeatedly told I would receive follow-up communication, but weeks and sometimes months passed without responses. The most concerning issue was billing transparency. I was charged hundreds of dollars for “communications” without receiving clear explanations, documentation, or copies of what those communications involved. When I politely requested clarification in writing, I was directed to schedule additional paid conversations rather than receiving straightforward answers to basic billing questions. What made this especially difficult was that there were periods where meaningful opportunities for progress existed in my reunification case, including renewed communication with my child after a long period of estrangement. During those critical moments, I was unable to get timely responses or a clear plan for how therapy would move forward. I understand that reunification work is complex and emotionally demanding. I also understand that therapists need boundaries around communication. However, in any professional setting, clients deserve reasonable responsiveness, transparent billing, and clarity about what services are being provided. I ultimately terminated services because I no longer felt confident that the process was being handled in a timely, organized, or transparent manner. I sincerely hope other families have a better experience than I did, but I would strongly recommend that anyone considering this practice ask very detailed questions upfront about communication expectations, billing policies, responsiveness, and how reunification progress is actually managed.”

“Please do not go to reina as a therapist. I was 17 years old going to her for a family matter and she added trauma. She made me have an unexpected forced visit with the person I was in therapy for. She would only talk of herself in sessions and not once did I feel like I was free to talk or say things that mattered. She is not an easy person to open up to at all and she will compare her "trauma" which therapists should never do. If you want real therapy PLEASE STEAR CLEAR OF NEW DAWN PSYCHOTHERAPY!! Go to a place with real therapists that know how to talk and comfort clients.”

“We’ve had such a wonderful experience with Rana. She is compassionate, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. She goes the extra mile to make sure children feel heard, supported, and valued. It’s rare to find someone who advocates so strongly for kids. She is truly amazing! My daughter and I are so extremely thankful for her. 10/10 recommend.”

“Honestly shocked at the lack of professionalism by Rana. She often talked about herself during our sessions when I am the one who is there for therapy. Started seeing her at the lowest, most confusing, and most painful time in my entire life. I am all for tough love, but at times she was outright mean and unwilling to listen to me. I have never in my entire life walked out/hung up on a medical professional in the middle of an appointment, but I did with Rana. I felt so incredibly judged and not listened to for something that I had explicitly explained in prior sessions. Not only me, but my husband had explained as well. She was citing information that she had sworn was from our previous session but was from at least a month prior. She often overstepped her scope of practice insisting I had diagnoses that had already been ruled out by a psychiatrist and discouraged me from being evaluated for autism citing “I know you’re not autistic because you can talk” as if autism isn’t a spectrum. It was an extremely bizarre and jarring comment. I’m just flabbergasted. I was willing to give her another chance, but I cancelled my appointment this week due to being unhappy with the prior session and having family obligations. That being said, I then received notifications that the remainder of my appointments had been cancelled. The retaliation was extremely petty and immature. She has a right to see whoever she wants, and I acknowledge that, but no effort was made to contact me to see what made me upset or anything like that. I’m sure the other therapists are wonderful, but I would never recommend Rana to anyone.”
